A 10-year-old boy was arrested on Friday and booked in juvenile hall for resisting and delaying a peace officer.
On Friday, Jan. 18, Willows Police responded to a report from a Willows woman who said that her son was refusing to go to school.
Upon arrival, the police sergeant said he attempted to talk to the 10-year-old boy, who refused to listen or comply with his mother's directions.
The boy pulled away and swung on the sergeant and he was arrested for resisting and delaying a peace officer.
Willows Police said that this was not their first encounter with the 10-year-old, who has required police involvement before. Other agencies are working with the police department in attempting to help the child.
Police said that they are unsure whether the child has any mental health issues.
