RED BLUFF, Calif. -

A 19-year-old died after crashing his motorcycle while intoxicated, according to California Highway Patrol.

The incident happened on Saturday in Red Bluff.

According to CHP, Skylar Garret Garcia was riding west on Plymire Rd., east of Snow Court at a high rate of speed. Investigators said Garcia entered a curve in the roadway, failed to safely make the turn and slid.

Garcia was ejected from his motorcycle and hit a road sign, which caused his motorcycle to flip several times before stopping.

Officers said Garcia crawled to a nearby intersection where he was located by friends.

Garcia was taken to the hospital but eventually died from his injuries. Garcia’s family said they want friends and family to remember Skyler for the loving person that he was.

An account to help with his funeral has been set up at Cornerstone Community Bank.
