ANDERSON, Calif. -

A man who police said they considered "armed and dangerous" was arrested in Cottonwood.

According to police, 32-year-old Barry Fourzon crashed a stolen car on China Gulch Rd. in Anderson on Tuesday morning. They said Fourzon was carrying a gun and was firing it at a house.

Fourzon was wanted for brandishing a firearm, terrorist threats, possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading of law enforcement and the discharge of a firearm at a dwelling.

At approximately 8:20 a.m., the Shasta County Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip through Secret Witness that the wanted subject, Fourzon, was inside of a home near Fourth St. and Hickory St. in Cottonwood.

Fourzon refused to leave the home and was located hiding in a bedroom closet.

Back in 2007, Fourzon's records indicate that he was involved in a high speed police chase after officers tried pulling him over on an outstanding drug parole violation in Happy Valley.

In 2011, officials said Fourzon was involved in a five-hour standoff in Weaverville when he was wanted by the narcotics task force. When officers tried to contact him inside of a home, they were told that he had explosives strapped to his body.

Neighbors within a half-mile radius were evacuated and Fourzon was later arrested.

In September of last year, Fourzon was also involved in a domestic dispute with his wife. Witnesses said he beat and kidnapped her.
