Hundreds of people gathered at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Redding to see how different cultures and religions celebrate their faith.
The Shasta County Interfaith Forum sponsored the event.
More than 500 people gathered to hear the stories, prayers, and songs of giving thanks; in English, Arabic, Hebrew, Punjabi, and more.
Lynn Fritz, the chairwoman of the Shasta County Interfaith Forum, says that diversity is strength.
“It is exciting to look out and see all the various people from different traditions, the faith leaders and the community members, to have a nice teeming, full house of people that are anxious to come together and honor the differences."
A collection of several hundred dollars was taken to be divided between People of Progress and the Salvation Army, both non-profit organizations are designed to aid the needy.
