The Western Open Fiddle Championships kicked off today at the Tehama County Fairgrounds.
It is held every year to showcase local fiddlers.
The championships started 30 years ago in Redding and moved out to Red Bluff 16 years ago.
Fiddlers of all ages come out to compete including 7-year-old Clara Boyle, who has been playing since she was two.
"My favorite song is 'On the Good Ship Lollipop," Boyle said.
The championships goes on Friday night through Saturday.
The division finals will be on Saturday at 6:15.
Concert only tickets: $15; Dinner and concert: $30
2-day contest ticket: $15 general admission, $12 for seniors
1-day contest ticket: $8 general admission, $7 for seniors
