OROVILLE, Calif. -

A woman was arrested for DUI after a hit-and-run accident that damaged a building at Oroville High School.

It happened shortly after midnight Saturday on Linden Avenue behind the school.

A car hit a south campus building, driving through a wall, and drove away from the scene.

Police said the driver Ashley Morris, 23 of Oroville,  drove away with her twin sister Alicia in the passenger seat.

Five minutes later, the vehicle was involved in a separate hit and run collision in the 2700 block of Mitchell Avenue.  The car was westbound approaching Washington Avenue when police said Morris tried to make a U-turn in front of Oro Villa Apartments.  She drove up over the curb and lost control of the Chevy Lumina.  The vehicle slid down a steep embankment and nearly hit an occupied apartment building.

Police said Ashley Morris ran off, but was caught a short time later near Bridge Street and Gawthorne.  She was booked into jail on multiple charges including DUI and hit and run.

Alicia was found lying on the ground near the car.  She was taken to Oroville Medical Center.
