The Shasta County Bomb Squad was called to a home in the City of Shasta Lake Friday night.
Deputies and police had contacted Donald Anderson, 60, at his home on Black Canyon Drive. Deputies said he is on Post Release Community Supervision stemming from a prior felony drug charge.
During a search, investigators said a loaded semi-automatic pistol was found under a seat cushion where Anderson was seated when deputies arrived.
During a subsequent search, a total of 15 firearms were located including a sawed-off shotgun, pistols, rifles, additional shotguns and an assault rifle with high capacity magazine. Most of the firearms were fully loaded.
A large supply of ammunition was also located. The search also revealed methamphetamine in the home.
During the search, two suspicious devices were located that resembled pipe bombs. The Shasta County Bomb Squad responded, and used an explosive device to render the items safe.
Anderson was arrested on drug and weapons charges. Additional charges may be sought against Anderson related to this case.
