Candlelight Vigil in Redding Will Remember Victims of Connecticut School Shooting

REDDING, Calif. -

Northstate residents are reaching out to remember the victims of the school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

A candlelight vigil will be held Monday night in Redding at the First United Methodist Church at 1825 East Street.  It starts at 7 p.m. and the community is invited.

They will remember the families impacted by violence in Newtown, Connecticut; Portland, Oregon and Aurora Colorado.

Faith leaders, mental health professionals and community leaders will be present for the program.  

Community members of all ages are encouraged to participate.  The vigil will commence with brief opening comments followed by the candle lighting and Native American flute at 7:00 p.m. and conclude at about 8:00 p.m..
