Chico Police arrested two Chico teens early Saturday morning after they allegedly pepper sprayed and beat a 39 year-old man.
According to police the 16 and 14 year-old males attacked the victim on the sidewalk in front of the Sierra Central Credit Union on E. 1st Street.
When police responded to the area the three male suspects fled but after a short chase they were detained.
According to the victim he was riding his bike when the the suspects attempted to speak to him. One of the juvenile suspects sprayed the victim with pepper spray. After that the suspects attacked the victim and knocked him to the ground, kicking him in the torso and head.
The victim was treated and released at the scene by an ambulance crew for exposure to pepper spray.
Police believe this was a totally unprovoked attack.
The juveniles were arrested and booked into the Butte County Juvenile Hall.
Police say it should be noted that this is the second unprovoked attack with pepper spray in a few days. On July 19th a victim reported being assaulted with pepper spray by a group of juveniles near Annie's Glenn in Chico.
