OROVILLE, Calif. -

Chico State's Center for Economic Development gathered economic minds for the 13th Annual Economic Forecast Conference.

Leaders from Shasta, Tehama, and  Butte County sat down and listened to experts forecast on where the Northstate is heading financially.

Calfornia State Controller John Chaing spoke at the event and our very own Kelli Saam got the honor of hosting.

Economists at the conference were optimistic, saying things looked solid for 2013 and that there could be good recovery in 2014.

Still, they say the Northstate needs to find ways to set itself apart from other parts of the state, in order to get companies to locate here.
