LOS MOLINOS, Calif. -

Traffic backed up on Highway 99 in Tehama County Friday morning after cattle fell out of a moving trailer.

It happened around 11 a.m. on Highway 99 near Marek Road just north of Los Molinos.  KRCR News Channel 7 producer Mike Watson was driving behind the truck and trailer when the back door flew open.  Watson said eight cows fell onto the highway through the open trailer door.

The CHP reported one of the animals was injured.  The driver and other ranchers were trying to round up the cattle.  The animals were seeing trotting away in nearby fields on both sides of the highway.

The driver Darrell Wood said was taking the cattle from a ranch in Shasta County to a ranch near the Butte County line.
