Backup Ray Emery got the call in goal for the Chicago Blackhawks when they faced off against the Nashville Predators on Saturday afternoon at Bridgestone Arena. In the first of back-to-back games against the Preds, Emery entered with a record of 12-1-0. He was opposed by Pekka Rinne for the Predators. Emery and the Hawks came away with a 1-0 victory. The veteran made 20 saves to record his second shutout of the season and 13th of his career. Bryan Bickell provided the offense with his seventh goal of the season. Bickell scored in the first when he broke in two-on-one with Michal Handzus and scored when his teammate fed him with a pretty pass. Bickell buried it into the open net. The Hawks won for the third time in their last four games to improve to 28-5-4 on the season. Nashville fell to 15-16-8.
