Human Trafficking
CHICO, Calif. -

Human trafficking is a worldwide problem, and concerned Chico State students want you to know the facts.

This week is the second annual Human Trafficking Awareness Week.

S.T.O.P. or "Stop Trafficking Of Persons" is a group that is trying to alert everyone about the problem of trafficking victims being lured into a life of prostitution.

"There are people who choose to be in the sex industry, but often there's children involved, " said Austin Larsen, a S.T.O.P. Event Coordinator.

It's estimated that 27 million people, mostly young women, are victims of human trafficking.
