ORLAND, Calif. -

An Orland woman was arrested Tuesday night after police found her pushing her 14-month-old baby in a stroller in the middle of the road. She was allegedly under the influence of drugs.

Police were sent to the 6000 block of County Road 21, just south of Orland around 9:30pm. There were reports of a woman allegedly banging her head against a wall inside of a home.

When police approached the area, they found 35-year-old Mary Katherine Berglund pushing her 14-month-old son in a baby stroller in the middle of the road. The baby was half-dressed and had no blankets covering him.

Officers stopped Berglund and she immediately started yelling and screaming profanities at them. According to police, she seemed under the influence of drugs.

The Glenn County Protective Services were called and the baby was put into their custody. Berglund was arrested and booked into the Glenn County jail for investigation of felony child endangerment and for being under the influence of a controlled substance.

The Glenn County Inter-Agency Narcotics Task Force team was also notified of the incident and may launch an additional investigation.
