Man Arrested for DUI After Witnesses Reported Him Driving 100 mph

ANDERSON, Calif. -

An Anderson man was arrested for DUI after police say he was driving at more than 100 mph.

Joshua Martin, 24, was arrested late Monday night.

Anderson Police responded just before 11 p.m. Monday.  Shasta County sheriff's deputies reported a speeding silver sedan heading southbound on Highway 273 traveling at speeds in excess of 100 mph.  Anderson Police officers moved to a position along Highway 273 to intercept the vehicle if it entered the City of Anderson.

While in the area of Highway 273 near Ox Yoke Road, the vehicle was spotted and was still travelling in excess of 100 mph.   An Anderson Police officer caught up to the vehicle, a 1997, silver Honda Civic, in the area of south bound Highway 273 at North Street where a traffic stop was conducted.

The driver, Joshua Martin, 24 of Anderson was arrested for suspicion of DUI and was booked into the Shasta County Jail.

Additional charges will requested with the Shasta County District Attorney's Office for Driving with a Suspended Driver's License, Reckless Driving, and Driving in Excess of 100 mph.
