Man Shot in Eye With Pellet Gun While Renting From a Redbox Machine

On Tuesday afternoon Lauren Galligan recounted what happened to her boyfriend, Teddy Robertson, at the Redbox machine outside of the Tower Mart on Lake Blvd. in Redding Monday night.
Thankfully Teddy wasn't shot with a real gun but on Tuesday he was awaiting surgery to remove a pellet that is now lodged behind his eye.
Galligan said Monday was supposed to be date night.
"We had just got groceries for dinner at the Sentry Market and they didn't have the Lord of Rings so we decided to go to Tower Mart around 7 p.m."
Galligan said while Teddy was waiting to rent the movie, another car pulled up.
"A lady and a man went inside to get beer and another waited outside."
The man waiting outside in the car began to give Teddy a hard time.
"He said something to Teddy like what are you looking at?"
Galligan said that's when shots were fired.
"The kid was sitting out of the back window and started shooting at Teddy with what looked like a real gun. Then Teddy got in the car and said I just got shot in the eye."
Galligan said the alleged shooter took off despite being shot, Teddy tried to follow him to get the license plate.
"As we were following him the kid was still hanging out of the car, shooting at the windshield," recounted Galligan.
The suspects got away and Teddy was immediately rushed to the hospital.
Now after hours in the emergency room and mountains of bills, Galligan is asking how did this happen?
"I'm just enraged," Galligan said.
She told us she wants the suspects caught and others to always be aware of their surroundings.
"It's scary," Galligan said. "You don't know what someone is going to pull on you or what can happen from an everyday encounter to rent a movie. It shouldn't be like that."
Robertson must now travel to UC Davis Medical Center for surgery to remove the pellet.
Galligan said the suspect was riding in a white, Nissan Sentra.
Redding police said they're investigating the case but as of now have no named suspects.
