Three suspects were questioned Tuesday night, after a woman reported three men had stolen medical marijuana from her home in the City of Shasta Lake. Two of the men were taken into custody and booked into jail.
It happened at 7:10 p.m. at a home on Akrich Street. Deputies said Shannon Ann Miller called authorities to report three men had stolen medical marijuana from her residence. The trio reportedly forced their way past the woman's boyfriend, Theodore Methvin Jr. and took the marijuana.
One suspect was believed to be armed with a firearm. It was believed the suspects were in route to the Burney area in a large four-wheel-drive vehicle.
A BOLO was issued for the three suspects. Around 9:15 p.m. deputies in the Burney area observed the suspects' vehicle at the Pit River Mini-mart on Tamarack Road, in Burney.
The three suspects were taken into custody without incident and the stolen property was recovered.
Kenneth Elrod, 61 of Cassel, and Jessie James Christie, 41 of Montgomery Creek, were taken into custody on unrelated warrants, and a fresh case of robbery was filed with the District Attorney. The third man was interviewed and released.
