REDDING, Calif. -

The Northstate observed the 11th anniversary of September 11th with several ceremonies.

A sunrise memorial ceremony was held at 7 a.m.  in Redding at the giant American flag at the Nazarene Church on North Bechelli Lane. The Enterprise High School band will perform, and a color guard will hoist a 30-by-50 foot flag.

All six Chico fire stations held a brief observance. At 7 a.m. all Chico fire department members assembled at attention in front of their fire stations for a moment of silence.

A second observance will be held at 10:10 a.m. at Chico Fire Station 1 on Salem Street. It will mark the time that the last plane crashed near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Nicole Miller of Chico was among those killed in the Shanksville crash.
