OROVILLE, Calif. -

An Oroville apartment building was evacuated overnight when police discovered a drug lab.    It happened early Wednesday morning just after midnight in the 1500 block of Pomona Avenue.

Police said they found three men making butane honey/hash oil in the parking lot of the apartment building.

Seven people were evacuated, including three small children, due to the flammable nature of the materials.

William Rose, 21 of Oroville, and Jesse Broadway, 20 of Oroville, were arrested on charges of manufacturing a controlled substance.

One witness tipped off law enforcement after seeing the subjects were huffing paint and burning items.

Police said the honey oil lab was bubbling in the parking lot.  There was a strong gas odor and officers observed a lit stove top burner inside an apartment through the open front door.   Police said it presented a serious public safety risk as the components used and the manufacturing process of a butane honey oil lab are extremely flammable.

Oroville Fire Department arrived on scene and shut down the power and gas to the associated unit.
