OROVILLE, Calif. -

For the second time in four days, a single engine plane made an emergency landing on Highway 70 near Clark Road in Oroville Sunday afternoon.

Ron Wilson, 40 of Paradise, and his 9-year-old son Morgan were performing aerobatic stunts in their family plane around 3 p.m. Sunday.

They had taken off from the Paradise Airport to enjoy a family flight.  Ten minutes after take-off, Wilson says his engine shut off.

Wilson glided the plane onto Highway 70.  The  pilot told KRCR News Channel 7 he almost hit a car when making the highway landing.  After the plane came to a stop, there was fuel leaking from the aircraft.

A similar incident happened on Thursday morning when a single engine plane from Susanville landed on Highway 70 just east of Pentz Road.

One lane of traffic was blocked for 45 minutes. No one was hurt.  That plane was piloted by John Schneider, who said his engine stalled at 10,000 feet.
