Red Bluff police say a 16 year-old boy was injured in an apparent gang-related shooting.

According to police they received reports of shots fired and a "man down" at the Tractor Supply store around 9:20 p.m. Friday night.

Upon their arrival officers located a 16 year-old male who was the victim of a gunshot wound to his ankle.

The victim, his 14 year-old brother, and a group of male teenagers were walking near Furniture Depot, next to the Tractor Supply store when two suspects allegedly approached them.

Police say one of the suspects was armed with a dark colored handgun, which he fired one time, striking the victim in the lower leg.

The victim, his friends, and the suspects fled the area.

The CHP provided help on the ground and as well as air support to search for the suspects.

However officers are still searching for them.

Police did not give details about what gangs could be involved in the shooting.

The victim was treated and released from St. Elizabeth's Hospital.

Anyone with information should contact the Red Bluff Police Department.
