Siskiyou County Sheriff's Deputies are saying they found what may be human remains in the Scott Valley area on Sunday.
Deputies found the remains in the area of North Kidder Creek Road. Officials said the bones will be sent to an outside anthropology lab for further examination.
Sheriff Jon Lopey said, "The bones we recovered are being transported to a laboratory where experts will examine them to determine what kind of identifying information can be derived from the recovered remains."
"The investigation will include working with scientific examiners and a comparison will be made with unsolved homicide and missing person's cases," he said.
