REDDING, Calif. -

Monday is your first chance to vote in the November election through the vote-by-mail ballot.

Elections officials in Shasta, Butte and Glenn Counties said vote-by-mail ballots should be available Monday. You can pick one up at the Clerk-Recorder's Office and drop it off at the same location.

Ballots will be available Tuesday in Tehama and Modoc Counties. Trinity County should be ready in one week on Monday, October 15.

The last day to register to vote is in two weeks on Monday, October 22.

Due to the Columbus Day holiday, post offices are closed Monday.  Beginning Tuesday the ballots will be sent to people who have requested a vote-by-mail ballot.
