MANTON, Calif. -

The rebuilding process continues for families who lost their homes in the Ponderosa Fire.

Pat and Mary Jane White were evacuated from their home on Aug. 18, the day the fire started.

They began cleaning up and clearing out their property the week after the fire. By the end of October, they had the foundation laid out.

Now, the frame of the house is up, the sheeting is done and the windows are installed.

"From rags to riches comes to mind. It's pretty exciting and overwhelming. It'll be good to get home again," Pat White said.

Next up, Pat said they will start working on the exterior of the house, like the roof and sheet rock. Then they will move on to the wiring and plumbing of the house.

White said they hope to be moved in by mid-March.

After they are settled, they said they will finish landscaping the yard and building outhouses.
