CHICO, Calif. -

Tributes are being planned in the Chico racing community after the death of sprint car driver Tyler Wolf.

Wolf, 20 of Redding, died Saturday night after crashing during a sprint car race in Calistoga.

Wolf was the 2011 Sprint Car Track Champion at Silver Dollar Speedway in Chico.  Track officials said at 19 years old, he was the youngest driver ever to win the championship.

Wolf was competing in the final race of the Calistoga Speedway's 2012 season.  His car crashed head-on into the wall on turn 2.  Firefighters had to extricate him from his vehicle.  He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Silver Dollar Speedway track announcer Troy Hennig said Wolf's number #19 would be painted on the infield of the track, and a race would be named in his honor.
