On Monday night, former Superintendent of Shasta Union High School Mike Stuart addressed the issue of keeping kids safe in school and gun control.
Stuart strongly supports the idea of having guns on campus with the proper officials to protect the schools. He says this is already a policy at the Shasta High School District. This policy has a Redding Police Officer stationed on the campus who helps with multiple issues, including safety, drugs or fighting.
The districts pay for the resource officers, and Stuart says having an armed officer on campus can provide the protection kids need.
