With Christmas just two weeks away today, holiday stress is coming to a peak.
The Butte County Department of Behavioral Health says sometimes the pressure of the holiday season can have a negative impact on people.
“I think the expectations can cause stress. Stress can cause anger. It can cause depression and can cause a lot of sorrow.”
During the holidays, people stress out about what to give their loved ones. The Department of Behavioral Health urges them to relax instead.
“Give yourself a little break from all of the pressures from the glitz and the glamour. From all the gifting and all the money you have to spend.”
The Department of Behavioral Health gets a lot of calls after the holidays are over, right around the time credit card bills start arriving.
A bit of parting advice: think before you swipe.
