Redding, Calif. -

Trial dates were set Wednesday for the man accused of murdering his aunt and almost killing her husband in their west Redding home.

66-year-old Candace Watson was found dead in her garage on Boston Avenue  June 8th of 2012.

She had been stabbed several times.

Her husband,  former Grant School Superintendent Bob Watson was also stabbed several times. The 68-year old survived.

30-year-old Cody Nash, Candace's nephew, pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder charges even though investigators say he admitted to slashing the Redding couple with a knife as a way to get up the courage to kill himself.

A trial date has been set for March 12th.

Nash's attorney says there are no plea deal discussions at this point.
