URGENT - UNGA Obama Weapons
(CNN) -- U.S. President Barack Obama said Tuesday that there must now be a strong U.N. resolution to back a U.S.-Russian agreement that Syria should hand over its chemical weapons stockpile. If the United Nations cannot do this, "it will show the U.N. is incapable of enforcing the most basic of international laws," he said. Success will mean "that this body means what it says," he said. He added that his preference had always been for a political solution to the crisis in Syria and that he supported all efforts toward a peaceful resolution.
