A big rig accident blocked Old Oregon Trail in Redding early Monday morning. City crews were on scene cleaning up the tipped truck, its load of plywood and a downed power line. One-way traffic was expected to be open at approximately 9 a.m.
The accident happened around 2:30 a.m. on Old Oregon Trail near Paso Robles Avenue.
The semi-truck was carrying a load of plywood when it tipped. It also knocked down a power pole and powerlines. PG&E crews responded along with crews to clean up the crashed truck and trailer.
A witness told police the truck was traveling the speed limit. The driver was able to climb out ot the truck and was taken to Mercy Medical Center with minor injuries.
