Update: Family Asks For Prayers For Injured Shasta College Football Player

The family of Tyler Burton would like the community updated regarding their son’s condition. The 21-year-old Shasta College football player was critically injured when he was punched in Chico last weekend and hit his head on the ground.
Tyler had made some very minor improvements. However, on Wednesday he suffered medical setbacks and his condition is extremely critical. His potential for survival is still very much in question. The family is asking for help through prayer.
The Burton family also shared some family photos showing Tyler as a boy through his days at Shasta College.
The Citrus Heights man accused of punching Burton appeared in Butte County Court in Oroville Thursday morning.
Andres Rodriguez, 20, is accused of punching Tyler Burton in the head. They had run into each other at 8th and Ivy Street during Halloween parties early Sunday morning.
Burton fell to the ground and hit his head.
He was immediately transported to Enloe Medical Center where he remains listed in critical condition.
