Update: Oroville Stand-Off Ends After 7 Hours

Bomb Squad On the Scene of Hours Long Standoff
OROVILLE, Calif. -

A seven-hour standoff at an Oroville motel ended with two arrests late Tuesday night.  Two suspects were taken into custody, and agents seized drugs, cash stolen property and a simulated assault rife.

It started around 4:15 Tuesday afternoon at the Villa Court Inn on Feather River Boulevard.  Agents with the Butte County Interagency Narcotics Task Force tried to serve an arrest warrant on Brandon Roy Dixon, 35 of Oroville.

Agents approached the hotel room and spotted two men inside, one appeared to be holding an assault rifle.

A number of agencies were called in to close nearby roads, establish a perimeter and evacuate guests from the motel.

Officers obtained a warrant for the hotel room.  Around 10:45 p.m. the Butte County Sheriff's Office SWAT team moved in and took the two men into custody without incident.

Officers arrested Brandon Dixon, and Christopher Louis Dixon, 29, also of Oroville. 

Officers said they recovered large amounts of controlled substances along with cash, drug paraphernalia, ammunition, stolen property and a simulated assault rifle.

Investigators said Christopher Dixon had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants through the Chico Police Department.

The two were booked into Butte County Jail for outstanding warrants and the additional criminal charges.
