Shasta County deputies responded to a homicide Saturday morning in Big Bend.

The call came in at 4:48 a.m. from Big Bend Rancheria in northeast Shasta County.  Deputies said a Native American man was shot and killed at a residence about a quarter-mile past the Pit Stop store on Big Bend Road. The man’s name and age were not released pending notification of his family.

After questioning detectives arrested 28 year-old Noah Ryan Potts for suspicion of murder and 25 year-old Colin Horn Kennedy for conspiring to commit murder.

On Saturday detectives said they expect to be on the scene all day.  They were interviewing people in the area to gather additional information.  At least four to five people were taken in for further questioning.

Investigators used a helicopter to take photos of the area.  A possible motive or if drugs were involved are not being released at this time.
