Single Vehicle Rollover Crash, Driver Arrested for DUI
REDDING, Calif. -

A woman was arrested for DUI overnight Thursday after her car flipped over where Highway 44 meets the downtown Redding area.

Officers with the Redding Police Department said 37-year-old Bay Lynn Chinn was traveling at a high rate of speed on Hwy 44 westbound about 12:05 a.m. when her white 5-series BMW clipped part of a utility poll and hit a large boulder on the sidewalk before landing upside down just next to the road.

Chinn was able to get out of the car by herself, but did complain of neck and wrist pain.

Police said a witness reportedly tried to prevent Chinn from driving prior to the collision and tried calling her while she was driving to try and get her to pull over after she was seen weaving across the roadway.

Police said Chinn admitted to drinking at two different locations.

An officer on the scene conducted a sobriety and breathalyzer test. She was arrested after blowing more than twice the legal limit. She was then taken to Shasta Regional Medical Center for a blood draw and medical attention.

Chinn was booked into the Shasta County Jail on DUI charges.

No one else was injured in the crash.
