REDDING, Calif. -

A Shasta County woman was arrested Tuesday for writing nearly $18,000 worth of bad checks.

Lorie Deanna Jones is charged with writing several checks she couldn't cover in the Redding area.

Officials said Jones wrote 63 bad checks in a one-year period. She was reportedly writing the bad checks at local grocery stores, golf shops, clothing stores, and furniture stores.

The Shasta County District Attorney's office is asking any local businesses who may have been victimized by Jones to contact the District Attorney's office at (530) 245-6335.
