CHICO, Calif. -

A Facebook page has been created to protest the hours cut at a popular playground in Chico's Bidwell Park.

The page is called "Save Caper Acres" and this follows after the city decided to close the park from Monday to Thursday due to budget cuts. The park will only be open from Friday through Sunday.

The page was started by Sarah Patino and so far it has received more than 3,000 likes. Patino wanted to let everyone know that this is not a good idea to close the park especially with kids out of school for the summer.

"If they want to close it down and extra day or two but just going that far and only having it open on the weekends it's just crazy to me,” said Patino.

Most vehicle entrances to the park will be closed, except the entrances at 4th Street and on Wildwood Way.  The new schedule will start next week.
