A Butte County physician’s assistant accused of kidnapping two Chico State students, raping one, and trying to rape the other entered a plea of not guilty in Butte County Court Wednesday.

Lonnie Keith, 40, was arrested back in January after police found syringes, zip ties, handcuffs, leg shackles, and sedatives inside of his car after they pulled him over for running a stop sign in the South Campus Neighborhood in Chico.

On Wednesday, both the prosecution and defense set the date for Keith’s trial for October 7.  Keith is still in the Butte County Jail on $3.2 million bail.
