CHICO, Calif. -

Surveillance video captured an armed robbery in Chico Wednesday afternoon.

It happened at 4:30 p.m. at the Chico Petroleum gas station at Walnut and First Avenue.

A man brandishing a handgun demanded money, and took off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The clerk, Sohen Singh, is also the owner.  He handed over everything in his register.

The surveillance video showed that the suspect touched the counter.  Police arrived and dusted for fingerprints.

Singh said it’s the first time this has happened to him in the 19 years he's owned the business.

“He showed me the gun. I opened up and I gave him all of the money,” said Singh. “He asked what I was doing, I said watching TV and he took the money and left.”

Singh described the suspect as Hispanic, and approximately 5’7” tall.
