Deputies said that Marcos R. Diaz, 40, was attacked by Jeanette R. Hughs, 42, and Albert G. Hammons, 36, with a hammer. Diaz responded in his own defense with a knife.
Hammons suffered a knife wound in the neck and was taken to Oroville Hospital where he was stabilized, then moved to an unidentified hospital for further care.
Hughs was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and booked into Butte County Jail. She is being held on $30,000 bail.
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information regarding this crime or any other, please call the Butte County Sheriff's Office.
