The Tehama County Sheriff's Office said they have received a handful of tips in regards to three attempted kidnappings in the area.
While deputies said one of those was a false alarm, the other two incidents still have authorities concerned. One of the attempted kidnapping incidents was in the Woodland Hills neighborhood. The other was reported on Rawson Rd. near Finell Rd.
They are on the lookout for two white men in an older model white pickup.
Since Sunday, there have been two reported attempted kidnappings and witnesses in both incidents describe the same truck and the same men.
The Tehama County Sheriff's Office wants to remind the public to be careful and aware of your surroundings.
Here are some tips from Sgt. Rod Daugherty:
A crime can happen, no matter what time of day it is. "It doesn't matter, night or day, it can happen at anytime. Criminals really don't care," Sgt. Daugherty said. "Have someone walk you out, you know, a co-worker, a security guard, don't feel like you need to be brave and just do it yourself."
Have an escape plan. Daugherty suggested having an escape route or carrying something that will protect you, like pepper spray.
Be ready to fight. "The elbow is one of the hardest parts of the body. Use them if you have to," Daugherty said.
Be observant. If you happen to see something suspicious, Sergeant Daugherty said to take down as best a description as possible of both the people involved and the vehicle, including "dents, bumper stickers, paint transfers."
If you happen to come across the men accused of trying to kidnap people, police say do not approach them. Instead, just call 9-1-1.
