REDDING, Calif. -

A Redding man is intensive care after he crashed his bike in south Redding.

The crash happened Wednesday night just before 9 p.m. along Highway 273 south of Cedars Road/Bonnyview Road.

Redding Police found 44-year-old Daniel Hagan unconscious on the side of the road.

Hagan was taken to Mercy Medical Center where he was listed in critical condition.  Police believe Hagan was riding his bicycle without a helmet when he ran into a metal fence post and crashed.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.

Anyone who witnessed the accident should call the Redding Police Department.
