Red Bluff police investigate possible hate crime

RED BLUFF., Calif. -

Red Bluff Police said an 18 year-old black woman reported she was attacked by a group of white males on the Red Bluff High School Football field around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

According to the victim she was approached by 8 to 10 white males juveniles.

The victim said one of the males made derogatory racial comments towards her then struck her several times in the face and head with a hammer.

A second juvenile then reportedly hit the victim with his fist.

All of the young men took off in different directions, according to police.

The victim sustained several contusions and abrasions to her head and face as a result of the incident.

She was taken to St. Elizabeth's Hospital where she was treated and released.

Red Bluff Police said the case is still under investigation and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
