CHICO, Calif. -

Chico Police surrounded a building near Park Avenue and 11th Street Wednesday morning.   They set up a perimeter as they tried to chase down two burglary suspects.  They ended up locating one suspect on the roof of a building.

The incident was reported around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Randy Rollag, owner of Lobdell Brothers Dry Cleaners at 1000 Main Street arrived at work and found two men inside the building.

The two men ran off.  Rollag said he tried to chase them, but they got away.  Then got his car and went looking for them.

Police responded and found one suspect a short distance away on the roof of an abandoned building.

Due to the dilapidated condition of the building, they had to call firefighters to get the suspect off the roof.

Officers were seen with guns drawn until the man was finally taken into custody.

Another suspect was last seen running off into the neighborhood.   He's described at a white man with a "scruffy" appearance.

KRCR News Channel 7 reporter Jerry Olenyn was on the scene and will have a full report tonight.
