Investigators will return to Interstate 5 in Glenn County Thursday afternoon, to re-create the deadly crash that claimed the lives of ten people.
They are hoping to gather information about what may have caused the FedEx truck to cross the center median and slam into a charter bus near Orland. The collision happened one week ago on April 10.
Among the victims were 5 high school students from Southern California headed to visit Humboldt State University.
Thursday afternoon, the CHP Multidisciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) will conduct testing of vehicles similar to those involved in the collision to obtain information regarding braking, visibility and other vehicle characteristics as part of the ongoing investigation.
Traffic will be impacted by the CHP tests. There will be rolling closures around the crash site on Interstate 5 in Orland starting around 1 p.m.
The CHP will also release the 911 voice recordings from the day of the crash.
Investigators are still seeking information from witnesses who saw the crash or anyone who may have photos. You are asked to contact the CHP Officer Lacey Heitman at (530) 225-2715 or email email@example.com.
