CAL FIRE prepares for thunderstorm and lightning threat
CAL FIRE is preparing for the thunderstorms moving into the Northstate.
Officials say they are at peak staffing right now, which means the fire stations are fully staffed and all the equipment is ready to go at a moment’s notice.
CAL FIRE has been monitoring the forecasts very closely and have added extra staff just the days ahead, when officials say the conditions are primed for any small fires to spread into large fires very quickly.
Extra manpower has been added to the Soldier Mountain, Latour and Bully Choop fire towers, those stations are normally not manned.
