Caltrans workers search for missing co-worker

LASSEN COUNTY, Calif. -

Caltrans announced on Monday that they are participating in a search for a missing employee.

Caltrans District 2 employees are donating personal leave time to look for missing co-worker, 45-year-old Patrick McCarthy.

McCarthy is a Caltrans equipment operator II who works out of the Susanville facility.

According to Caltrans, McCarthy called in sick to work on June 3 and his neighbor saw his truck in McCarthy's hometown of Doyle, Calif. McCarthy has not been seen or heard from since.

McCarthy's family has filed a missing persons report with the Lassen County Sheriff's Office. He is described as 6'2" in height and 215 lbs. He was last seen in a 2004 maroon extended cab Ford Ranger with the California license plate number 82362B1.
