Chico fire officials are concerned after responding to twelve intentionally set fires since early Saturday.
Most of the fires were started in the neighborhood south and west of campus where the majority of college students live.
And many of the fires involved mattresses and couches that were likely left behind when college students moved at the end of the school year.
Sunday night just before midnight a fire was set in a dumpster behind the El Rey Theatre.
Another fire Sunday night was set in a work trailer off Pavis Avenue near 20th Street.
That fire also caused damage to a work truck parked next to the trailer.
Chico Fire Department Investigator Marie Fickert went around to businesses and property managers Monday asking that they remove any combustible debris from around their buildings.
Anyone with information or who witnesses suspicious activity is asked to call the Chico Fire Department.
