Chico Police: Correctional Officer Arrested For Domestic Violence

Around 4:00 a.m. Chico Police arrested 31 year-old Leonard Mundy for an alleged domestic violence dispute at the Super 8 Motel on Manzanita Court in Chico.
While enroute, the victim told the motel manager that she had been assaulted
by her boyfriend.
Chico Police said she further advised that the suspect was a correctional officer for the
California Department of Corrections and was armed with a handgun.
Upon arrival, officers learned the suspect had fled after the manager had called police.
During the investigation, officers located the suspect near the intersection of East Avenue and Cohasset Road.
The suspect, Leonard Mundy was arrested for felony spousal abuse and false imprisonment.
Police also said a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun believed to belong to Mundy was found in the area and secured.
Chico Police confirmed that Mundy was an off duty officer for the CDC.
Prison officials were notified of his arrest.
Mundy was transported to Butte County Jail where he was booked on domestic violence and false imprisonment charges.
His bail was set at $136,000.00.
