CHICO, Calif. -

A Chico State graduate has created a smartphone app designed to bring relaxation to its users.

The app is called "Unwind" and it was created by 25-year-old Jeff Schnepple.

"Unwind" is designed to make the process of scheduling a massage less stressful.

Schnepple, who graduated from Chico State in 2010, majored in business administration and entrepreneurship.

Schnepple partnered with Christian Friedland, a fellow Chico State graduate and founder of the company, to bring the app to life.

On Tuesday afternoon Schnepple said, "You never know when you're going to need a massage."

An "Unwind" user might be sore after a workout or from traveling and "Unwind" helps the user book an appointment on the fly.

"People are looking for more services to be focused around their schedule rather than having to schedule around the provider's schedule. The beauty of mobile devices is they allow scheduled appointments to be on demand," said Schnepple.

The app works like this: a user downloads the app on their smartphone, on the other end, the masseuses register their services with "Unwind." When a user decides they need a massage they can look for available services in their area and schedule an appointment.

The payment is made for the massage through "Unwind" and then "Unwind" takes a percentage of the transaction.

The app is not available yet but Schnepple said he hopes to have "Unwind"up and running by the end of May or beginning of June.
