Chico State kicks off summer orientation
Incoming freshmen and transfer students got a first taste of what college life is like at Chico State.
The university kicked off its summer orientation this week to show over 2,800 new students the campus. Student leaders also showed the different clubs, academic resources and how to plan their class schedules.
Information booths were set up at the Bell Memorial Union Auditorium to make sure these students were prepared for the fall semester.
"To understand the requirements of the university and to understand what it is like to be part of the Chico campus and community,” said Kim DuFour, director of Academic Advising Programs. “They also need to understand expectations so when they come here in August they will be ready to go."
Chico State will complete 23 sessions when orientation is done on July 22.
